Shanghai, September 1, 2021 — At the intersection of medical humanities and scientific research commercialization, Yewen Renyi (ShanghaiDoctor) and China Science Development Co., Ltd. (中科科兴, hereinafter referred to as “CSCD”), a subsidiary of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, formally signed a strategic cooperation agreement on medical-industrial transformation, officially establishing the “Shanghai Medical Innovation Center”. This collaboration marks a commitment by both parties to deepen cooperation in the field of medical-industrial transformation, jointly exploring new models and opportunities in the healthcare industry.
Powerhouse Alliance to Build a New Platform for Medical-Industrial Transformation
Yewen Renyi (ShanghaiDoctor), a leading brand in medical humanities creation in China, has been dedicated since its founding in 2014 to producing in-depth profiles of clinical medical professionals, providing a platform for healthcare workers to showcase their expertise and exchange ideas. CSCD, as a state-owned enterprise under the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Administration Bureau, specializes in translating scientific research into industrial applications, with significant strengths in the life and health sectors.

Key areas of cooperation include:
Facilitating the translation of clinical expert projects;
Providing transformation management services;
Formulating and implementing intellectual property protection strategies;
Offering investment and financing support for clinical professionals.
Operational Mechanisms
To ensure smooth collaboration, a joint conference mechanism will be established, with biannual meetings to enhance communication. Dedicated project managers from both sides will oversee the pragmatic, efficient, and integrity-driven implementation of cooperation initiatives.
Agreement Duration and Future Vision
The agreement takes effect on September 1, 2021, with a five-year term. Both parties aim to integrate medical humanities with scientific research commercialization, injecting new vitality into the healthcare industry and creating broader development opportunities for clinical professionals.
Yang Yang, Executive Vice President of CSCD, and Chen Qing, Partner of Yewen Renyi (ShanghaiDoctor), shared their visions for the partnership. Chen Qing remarked:
“Yewen Renyi (ShanghaiDoctor) adheres to a dual focus on ‘left hand in medical humanities, right hand in medical technology’. Drawing on a decade of successful translational experience, we are poised to amplify the impact of this collaboration. Having participated in medical translation projects across China, the U.S., and Japan—from large institutions like the Mayo Clinic to community health centers—I understand the complexities of medical-industrial transformation. It demands interdisciplinary expertise in engineering and biology, as well as highly skilled teams. Over the past decade, Yewen Renyi has built a robust support system to ensure the success of such endeavors.”
This strategic partnership under the structure of "Shanghai Medical Innovation Center" heralds a new chapter in medical-industrial transformation, with the potential to drive breakthroughs and innovations for the global healthcare landscape.
